In this video I show you how to incorporate a transistor into your arduino project. I show the motivation is that some components, like an active buzzer, require more current than the GPIO pins can source. So, I show how you can use a transistor as a switch. It is important to remember that the GPIO pins on the Arduino R4 can only supply 8 milliamps, and trying to draw more current than that can damage the GPIO pin or actually fry your arduino. The buzzer draws more than 8 milliamps, so I will show you how to incorporate a transistor into your projects where you can then control larger currents from the GPIO pins. This concept can be extended to run other components like motors. Enjoy!
